Oevermeer Bistro has a relaxed and jovial atmosphere – a place for unwinding where down-to-earth good food is presented with artistic flair. Reserve your spot on the deck with great views over the dam, or nestle around the large fireplace in winter time. An eigh-seater harvest table is ideal for group gatherings, while a few cocktail tables are set up close to the bar for those keeping an eye on the rugby or soccer score. Plush upholstered Chesterfield benches, copper and rosewood décor touches combined with rich wood finishes make this a warm and inviting space for all seasons.

KEEPING IT REAL

Award- winning Chef Chris Tustian believes in using fresh seasonal produce  and sings the praises of  freshly-baked  country bread and poppy seed and sesame rolls.  Making his own stock and using micro-greens is part of a philosophy where good food is made from nature’s best. Healthy eating is top of mind and as little as possible preservatives are used.

Fresh and cold meats, and home-made cheeses for our Grazing Platters, are sourced from the finest suppliers. Our Burger-licious options include a tasty vegetarian option – the Herb Baby Marrow Burger is topped with grilled mushrooms, chilli chickpea and served with hand cut potato wedges. Sounds to good to be savoured only by vegetarians? Top it up with chicken or beef and create a Mega Burger for large appetites.

Round off the perfect meal with a giant freakshake or decadent  warm chocolate chip brownie with salted caramel ganache and vanilla ice cream. There is a reason why this final touch to your day is listed under the category of “It’s a sin”.  Bon appetit, or since local is lekker – smaaklike ete!

From classic cocktails to innovative craft beers, we have it all. For refined palates, the wine list is varied and extensive. No one goes thirsty at Oevermeer Bistro.

Craft beer aficionados will be happy to know that we serve the finest of the Cape Brewing Company’s draft beer collection,  brewed without compromise at the foot of Paarl Mountain. Swedish brewer, Henrik Dunge joined the team of two beer enthusiasts, Charles Back and Andy Kung to establish a brewery that makes beer as it should be made — in  true craft style.

The CBC Amber Weiss is fruity and aromatic. It is intersting to note that  in Germany Weissbier is considered a typical breakfast beer. An approach we may have to adopt! The cold-fermented CBC Lager,  is malty and hoppy, crisp with an elegant taste – perfect for easy drinking.

Devils Peak Brewing Company’s First Light Golden Ale is brewed at the foot of Devil’s Peak in Cape Town. This fruity aroma, with medium-dry finish is named after the slopes of Devil’s Peak east of the Cape Town city bowl which is first to receive the sun’s golden light in the morning.
